Vege week

Busy setengah mati and alhamdulillah I can still control my temper though at times it was tested to the max.  Suffice to say, the younger generations are very spoilt.  Not all but majority are very spoilt and it is a common scenario to see parents coming to the registration counter and asking all sorts of questions which student should ask themselves. Makes me wonder, when are the kids going to learn to speak up for themselves and ask questions. I can't help but to compare the first day I entered campus life. From then onwards my life changed totally. Oh well, I won't go down memory lane. I had my share of the ups and downs of campus life.  At times I can't help wishing if I could turn back the clock. So enough with the brief memory walk.  Nowadays, I opted to eat home-cooked meals especially after coming back from work. It was eithet McD or SCR of Sugarbun for both of us.  I was so tired of eating all those fast food, we did a little cooking and here were some of our din

Apricot, Almond and Cranberries cake

Recipe is from chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.  Not familiar huh..but how about River Cottage..sounds familiar?  Ocassionally I would sit and watch this programme till the end and I must admit he has good shares of simple and healthy recipes.  As usual, I did a little tweak here and there I managed to get three loaves out of this recipe.  Original recipes calls for apricots, figs and prunes.  Since I only had apricots, almonds and cranberries in my fridge I just proceed with the baking.  Mum loves this recipe and its definitely a keeper.  Will share the recipe later. Till then, happy weekend to all.

It was a long holiday during the last Chinese New Year festival.  Though I was down with high fever and bad cough I managed to prepare this simple easy dish for everyone on the 2nd day of CNY. As much as I wanted to visit some friends I decided not to as I was feeling a little bit groggy but after feeling slightly better I decided to watch Die Hard 5 (A Good Day to Die Hard).  Good movie and enjoyed the movie thoroughly.

Kway Teow ala Mamak

CNY is just round the corner and I can say that the weather speaks loudly to welcome the year of the Snake.  I guess the rainy weather especially the heavy rain  in the evening kinda of preparing for the dragon to make its exit in a weeks' time.      Whatever la kan...  Anyway I was super2 rajin today that I woke up around 4:30 am and prepared Fried Kway Teow ala Mamak style.  And this is it, my version.  No particular recipe just whatever I can salvage in the fridge.  Happy Friday everyone. Salawat dan salam untuk mu ya Rasulullah.
