It has been a while since I last ate one so I made this last Saturday. Aku dah jarang makan nasi lemak lately so I thought, why not do a special treat for the whole family nak?. I used to have this 3 or 4 times a week and had teh-tarik everyday for breakfast. Bad choice of a healthy diet obviously so I started to cut down on all that and alhamdulillah I would only have any of these when I go out. Ya pun..jarang juak dah keluar.....

So yummy & menggoda. Nur, kamek toklah antu nasik lemak. Esp mun nasik lemak ada ikan masin. Paling suka ikan masin gonjeng. Or else ikan tenggiri/ikan gelama nak jenis buntuk ya.

kamek gia juak oii, nang x pat nanga nasik lemak, mun ke siney, mesti ngorder, kinek tok jak paksa control...hehehehe..sbb lamak x makan ya lah molah.......kamek riya lupak ngoreng ikan masin polah dak nenek mek dr mukah..mun ndak ada juak lam pic tok..p dah nyawa nak makan, sik tahan agik..kekekeke ..mek paling suka makan dgn ikan kembong masin...esp munnya dipolah dikpun...

My trip to Miri not only gave me the opportunity to reunite with old friends that I missed dearly but I also took the golden opportunity to learn more about my dad's language. My dad is a Melanau from Kpg Suyong, Balingian. Their melanau dialect differs from the rest of the Melanau dialects from Mukah, Oya, Rejang, Dalat, Matu, Igan & Bintulu. Sad to say that this particular dialect is slowly disappearing. Even my aunt Regina or fondly known as Usu Ina who is married to a melanau from Bintulu is at loss with her own Balingian dialect at times. So far, I've noticed that only my dad, my first cousins Lai & Kak Senah are still speaking this beautiful dialect fluently. Usu Ina converse mostly in the Mukah dialect and I observed that she would refer to Lai if she was not sure of the language itself. My dad and his siblings back in Balingian still converse in their own dialect but once they are out of their kampung, they would converse in the Mukah dialect again. Mmmmmmmmmmm....
